De la Guerra Fría a la crisis identitaria: la OTAN frente al aislacionismo, el imperialismo y la multipolaridad

En el 75.º aniversario de su fundación, el papel de la OTAN en un escenario geopolítico posmoderno se caracteriza por la fragmentación normativa, la desmilitarización social y la crisis identitaria occidental. En concreto, existen tres desafíos estratégicos: el repliegue estadounidense hacia un «neoaislacionismo» sustentado en su autonomía energética y prioridades internas; el «neoimperialismo» ruso como proyecto posmoderno de recuperación de esferas de influencia sin ocupación territorial; y la multipolaridad como relato que debilita la hegemonía estructural de EE. UU. Ante este triple reto, la OTAN debería transformarse en una plataforma de resiliencia democrática y ser entendida como garante indirecto del estado de bienestar occidental, al permitir repartir el esfuerzo defensivo entre sus miembros y liberar recursos para inversión social, reforzando así la legitimidad democrática de la seguridad colectiva en el siglo XXI.
