El posible conflicto bélico entre Estados Unidos y China: reconsiderando la «Trampa de Tucídides»

Resumen
La teoría del equilibrio de poderes parece más adecuada que la «Trampa de Tucídides» para interpretar la actual tensión entre China y Estados Unidos. Las críticas a su etnocentrismo parecen olvidar factores de occidentalización todavía presentes en Asia Oriental, que condicionarían la emancipación china. Sin embargo, el equilibrio de poderes global no evitaría la conflictividad regional, por lo que deben también considerarse aquellos factores que podrían desencadenar una espiral de beligerancia. El escenario postpandémico podría iniciar una etapa iliberal de reglobalización, donde el neoproteccionismo sería un arma de contención.
