LESSONS LEARNED (AND TO BE LEARNED): LEARNING METHODOLOGIES AND INTELLIGENCE ANALYSIS TOOLS
Abstract
This paper is focused on the effective interaction between intelligenceand learned lessons methodology as a specific form of knowledge managementfor action in an organisation. Learning lessons is also proposedas a process included in the analytical and forecast capabilities by meansof past exploitation. Although firstly based on the principles of militarydoctrine it may be applied to different areas of activity in public andprivate fields. A systematic study of cases in a timeline and the waysof learning should be applied to the continuous improvement of processesin all levels of a learning organization, including the own identitybased on shared experience. It also reviews the concepts of projection,extrapolation and forecasting and their differences as proactive forms ofintelligence. A final reflection is written on the increasing opportunity ofspecialization for intelligence analysts to the design and implementationof Units of Analysis and exploitation of Learned Lessons in public andprivate organisations to improve their competitiveness.Downloads
