AN EVOLUTIONARY VIEW OF DEFENCE
Keywords:
economía evolutiva, capacidades militares, tecnología, industriaAbstract
This article analyses the defence case from the perspective of evolutionary
economics. To this end, the key elements of this theory have been applied
to the issue of defence; in other words, to the development of military
capabilities for the purpose of efficiently protecting society from external
threats within a framework of uncertainty and bounded rationality of
the actors involved. The paper describes the evolving way through which
such capabilities are developed, including the means required for their
functioning. Finally, we present the conclusions drawn from this analysis
together with its resulting practical implications.
