Abstract

The European Union is a key player in the fight against global terrorism
which, given it´s violence intensity, was identified as one of the greatest
threats to internal and external security of the region. To give a strong response
to terrorism, over time the European Union has launched a series
of hard and soft responses to extremism, in order to create a true internal
security structure. However, the phenomenon of terrorism is constantly
changing, forcing the European Union to strengthen its tools and strategies
to combat it.
