THE MODERN THAI CONFLICT: NATIONAL SECURITY ISSUES AND PERSPECTIVES.

Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to recall briefly the most relevant factsof the conflict that I have called the “modern Thai conflict”, as well asto brief about the main actors involved, the emotional and cognitivecomponents of their interactions, the structural parts of the conflictitself and, finally, the issue of the insurgence in the South of Thailand,in order to better appreciate the current conflict resolution strategy inwhat is often an unknown conflict as far as the international communityis concerned.
