Auge y caída de un icono africano. Abiy Ahmed Ali ¿del Nobel de la Paz a amenaza para la seguridad regional?

Resumen

El presente artículo pretende analizar los principales eventos que han ocurrido en Etiopía desde la llegada al poder del primer ministro Abiy Ahmed en abril de 2018 hasta septiembre de 2024. Durante los primeros meses de su mandato, su figura pública protagonizó un fulgurante ascenso, cuya cúspide fue la concesión del Premio Nobel de la Paz en 2019, para poco tiempo después volverse tremendamente impopular en el país, especialmente entre los oromos y los tigrinos. Aquí expondremos cuáles han sido los aciertos de su política, condensada en su ideología Medemer, y cuáles sus fracasos, especialmente los relativos a la guerra de Tigray, la cuestión oromo, la insurgencia amhara de Fano y la reciente crisis provocada por el acceso etíope a un puerto del mar Rojo.
